How not to count unique visitors with property listing syndication

Property listing syndication is the new ‘must have’ for estate agencies . Syndication is the term often referred to when publishing your properties to websites other than your own in order to attract visitors. Marketing to prospective clients that you have a footprint on x number of websites is much more appealing than your competitor who is still publishing his properties on the ‘state of the art’, flash-intensive website his son-in-law produced back in the 90’s when the internet started.   But, agents should be very careful in how they market listing syndication to clients. Say your listings are advertised on 3 web sites, each having 100 unique visitors a month. Going around and telling clients that you target a total of 300 (100x3) unique visitors a month is a total misinterpretation . The simple reason is that there is an overlap of visitors between sites. The very 10 people who visited site A may also have visited site B and C in the sa...

The Jacaranda FM team 'busted' Entegral's offices in Centurion today with some free Mimmo's pizza and Coke... ...and in the process we also scored a minute of free radio time!

Don't read too much into average time on site for visitors

Image
The time on site measurement from website analytics is often used to measure visitor quality . The longer the average visitor stays on your site the better quality web site you have....right? Well not exactly...visitors might leave their browsers open on your site, continue with something else and only then view your site 20 or 30 minutes later. This causes the average time to be inflated and can therefor be very misleading. If you have a high traffic website like www.myproperty.co.za your stats will however tend to be more accurate as the stats are calculated over thousands of visitors' usage of the site on a daily basis. MyProperty South Africa averages nearly 8 minutes viewing time per visitor during January (up from previous months).

2009 - full steam ahead for Entegral

Image
What a year it’s been, after a well deserved break the Entegral team is back in action for a very busy 2009.   In the first quarter of 2009 we will develop no fewer than 5 national websites for existing and new clients. This is in addition to the agent and office website development that takes places on an ongoing basis for new real estate clients. It is great to see that these national groups have so much confidence in the internet despite the state the South African property market is finding itself in.   There is lots of new stuff going into the OMS (Office Management System) and our Grid Interface now allows national real estate groups to advertise on Entegral’s high traffic real estate portals.   We also have an international deal looming for a large real estate group in the USA . We’ve done a proof of concept last year which took more than a month of hard work by the design and development team (including some late nights and lot...

Entegral flying with Kulula

We’re always exploring new marketing opportunities to benefit our growing real estate client base. This month (Jan 2009) our property portal, MyProperty , is ‘flying’ with Kulula with an ad in their in-flight magazine . Despite a very difficult real estate market we are pushing ads like these to assist our clients in the current buyers market.   Thanks to our design & marketing team for a great ‘web 2.0’ ad and the guys from Picasso for perfect results in the publication.
