Business as (un)usual at Entegral with COVID-19 and a national shutdown

Dear Clients,

There is no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic is putting a damper on economic activity and have now resulted in a national lockdown in South Africa to help save lives. This will undoubtedly have a direct impact on the real estate market and agents specifically. Business as usual has been disrupted and working from home is the new normal for everyone in the next few weeks.

At Entegral business operations continue as normal. We've been operating a remote work force for the past 5 years so there is no disruption in our service to you. Our team is actively busy working on new features and tweaking existing systems as usual.

Recently, our South African partner portals have stepped up to assist agents as follows:
  • Property24 will not charge for services for the month of April;
  • Private Property will reduced subscription fees by 25% for 3 months;
  • Property360 has recently partnered with Entegral to offer a reduced subscription fee for a new account;
Although Entegral would love to reduce fees, the reality is that we won't be able to absorb a large discount in our existing fee structure taking into account the highly volatile exchange rates.
That said, now is as good a time as ever to invest in a new agency website or upgrades. We have made the following available to existing and new clients:
  • A 50% discount in the setup fees for a new Flex template website including our most cost-effective Starter Template featured below, which will only cost you R499 for setup including the domain registration;
  • Moving over to Base from the OMS or any external system? We will import your data free of charge from selected partner portals;
  • Rates for any ad-hoc development work on Flex websites will be reduced with 30% until the end of April;


We obviously have limited capacity, so if you are interested please give us a shout as soon as possible. Now is certainly an ideal time to revisit your online marketing strategy.

Property24 acquires Private Property, what do estate agents think?

Property24.com, South Africa’s largest property portal owned by Naspers, has bought rival Private Property . The deal is likely to come under the close scrutiny of competition authorities as it involves the two biggest property portals in the country. Due to the impact of such an acquisition on the industry, Entegral was interested to find out what the perceived advantages and disadvantages of such a deal would be, both through the eyes of the consumer and the estate agent.   Here are the results from around 250 responses received on a survey done over a 2 day period , mostly from agents and agency owners. US trends show more buyers come from internet, less from print

Where home buyers found the home they purchased- 2001 vs. 2008   Have a look at the very interesting figures published for USA home buyers on: http://rismedia.com/2009-03-29/buyers-becoming-more-successful-finding-homes-through-internet/   The NAR statistics show that 7 years on from 2001, 32% of home buyers found their home through the internet. What’s even more interesting is that print newspaper hardly makes an impact, a mere 3% of buyers found their home through print.
