Happy Holidays from all of us at Entegral



Happy holidays! It goes without saying that 2020 has been a roller coaster, but thankfully it’s time to slow down the pace; enjoy warm, lazy days on the beach (or not :-); luckily we live in a country that has so much to offer - so if the beach is not on your to-do list this year, we hope you get to explore places that you've never been before.

As this is the last blog post that we'll do this year, we want to end it off on a personal note to thank all our clients who stuck with us this year.  All kinds of challenges were thrown our and your way - and seem like we're still not out of the woods yet - but without your loyal support and every bit of effort, we would not have been able to keep our systems running.  

It was our goal at the beginning of 2020 and it will be the goal again in 2021; to give the real estate market the most innovative real estate technology.  And, to be clear and transparent in all that we do.  The relationships that we've built over the last couple of years have been invaluable to us and we look forward to building some more in the new year.

Please take note of our support hours and availability from the support staff; as of the 21st of December till the 8th of January, we will close our telephone lines to give our support staff a little bit of a breather.  We will however still be available during non-public holidays by email.  Should you experience any problems, please send an email to support@entegral.net and we'll attend to your query as soon as possible.

Property24 acquires Private Property, what do estate agents think?

Property24.com, South Africa’s largest property portal owned by Naspers, has bought rival Private Property . The deal is likely to come under the close scrutiny of competition authorities as it involves the two biggest property portals in the country. Due to the impact of such an acquisition on the industry, Entegral was interested to find out what the perceived advantages and disadvantages of such a deal would be, both through the eyes of the consumer and the estate agent.   Here are the results from around 250 responses received on a survey done over a 2 day period , mostly from agents and agency owners. While the survey presents a small portion of the market (a ccording to the EAAB's latest annual report there are 19,424 registered agents and agency owners, excluding intern estate agents, in South Africa) , f eedback has been received from well-respected agency owners and agents, and we believe this gives a good indication of the current view of agents. US trends show more buyers come from internet, less from print

Where home buyers found the home they purchased- 2001 vs. 2008   Have a look at the very interesting figures published for USA home buyers on: http://rismedia.com/2009-03-29/buyers-becoming-more-successful-finding-homes-through-internet/   The NAR statistics show that 7 years on from 2001, 32% of home buyers found their home through the internet. What’s even more interesting is that print newspaper hardly makes an impact, a mere 3% of buyers found their home through print.
